MJ came to be about six months ago in need of differentiating herself from other Portland hair stylists. She wanted to create, engage the foster her clients and community by the experience that it is to have your hair done by her. Since she hired me, I have created an array of social media content, and most recently a set of business cards that raises the bar for all hairdressers. These cards have been flying like pancakes since they were first released and are currently circulating on social media and randomly, Nike campus.
Tihli is a start up skin-care brand that was looking at how to move forward. I was was given the task of developing and designing a logo ( from scratch! ) and a comprehensive color scheme to match and express the tone of the business. I also sourced accompany body fonts, had a final say in the patterns and use of color which would later accompany the packaging and website, art direction in photography for the bts, website and future use.

The concept of this Zine was so allow people to explore emotions that often go un-explored in a fun, non-invasive way. My goal was to use deep-sea-exploration as a metaphor as self exploration - with copy to serve as a little validation along the way. My main focuses in “Deeper” are negative space, color theory, playing with depth while the reader travels through the book, brush choices and a few words to tie it all together. Each zine is hand-made; printed individually on a Inket printer for vivid colors, cut and then hand-bound in the Japanese stab binding technique.
